Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is the most important thing about getting orthotics?
Wherever you go, make sure you receive a full biomechanical assessment, and that the orthotics are custom made from a 3 dimensional model of your foot, such as a plaster cast. Having a lab on site is preferable.
2. Do I need a referral?
Referrals are encouraged but not required. In some cases referral is necessary for re-imbursement through extended medical plans.
3. How long do orthotics last?
Custom orthotics will last many years but your feet may change after a few years. We recommend that the fit of your orthotics be re-assessed after 5 years. If you are feeling uncomfortable you should return before 5 years.
4. What is your guarantee?
While we cannot guarantee complete pain relief we can guarantee that we will work with you and utilize all our resources and knowledge to make you as comfortable as possible. Our goal is to make you completely satisfied.
5. Does everybody need orthotics?
No, but if you are having pain in your feet, ankles, knees, hips or back, orthotics may help.
6. What is your policy regarding adjustments?
Adjustments are free for one year if the process has been ongoing since you received your orthotics, as in the case with people who have severe foot deformities. There may be a re-assessment fee if we have not seen you in 6 months.
7. Is there a fee for extended medical paperwork?
No, while some clinics charge a fee, we do not.
